Are today’s mid-lifers facing a retirement crisis?

"

New research reveals that five million mid-lifers, aged 40–54, face a difficult retirement.

A generation born between the early 1970s and late 1980s were too young to benefit from defined benefit pension schemes, but also too old to feel the full benefit of automatic enrolment. Five million of these mid-lifers, currently aged 40–54, are not on track for an adequate retirement.

The research did offer some hope: start putting more into retirement plans now, as there are at least 13 years before State pension age arrives.
